Wednesday Rain

Hello Friends!

Over the past few years I have received many requests to start some kind of facebook group or online blog for weather updates...so here it is!  As many of you know, I have a passion for helping people understand what causes weather...as well as producing the best forecasts that I can...so I hope that you'll take the time to read some of the information/forecasts that I post.

So here we go...first thing I'll show you is two computer models precip totals by 60 hrs.  The scale on the left shows you how much water will fall during the next 60 hours...both of these models are showing a general 1-2" over much of Southern New England.

My forecast for the next two days...

Tuesday:  Mostly Sunny and 50F

Wednesday:  Rain beginning at 2am and ending at 5pm...1-2" in the Boston area.  High around 50F

Here is the data to support...

GFS shows a general 1.5 to 2.5"...with the heaviest rain falling along the south shore

NAM shows a more diffuse precip pattern but still a 1-2" rainfall event across southern new england

This morning's computer models are showing temps of 47-50 tomorrow and 50-56 on Wednesday.  With significant rainfall expected on Wednesday I am inclined to go with the lower temperature from the NAM MOS forecast of 50F
So these products lead me to the following forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday:

Tuesday (tomorrow):  Mostly Sunny and 50F

Wednesday:  Rain beginning at 2am and ending at 5pm...1-2" in the Boston area.  High around 50F

I will do an extended range forecast this evening!  I will let you know when I complete the blog entry :)

If you have any requests for information or how to upgrade/improve this blog...feel free to let me know.

Thank you very much for reading...sorry for the rain!
